2023 Annual Fund Drive

Each year, Rocky Run Fire Company runs an Annual Fund drive. This fund drive helps offset costs that are not covered by the Township subsidies and other grants such as equipment, technology, station maintenance, planning for the future, and payroll for our part-time EMS staff. Contributions are not required to receive service from Rocky Run, but are always appreciated.

As a 501c3 organization, all donations to Rocky Run qualify for a tax deduction. Rocky Run advises all donors to discuss their specific situation with their qualified tax advisor or accountant.

Below is our 2023 letter mailed out in June. If you’re interested in contributing, please visit our Donations page today or send a personal check to us via US Mail.

FAQs

  • While additional contributions are appreciated, if you’ve already contributed to our “Beginning of the Year” campaign and you don’t feel compelled to donate again, there is no pressure to do so.

  • In the past, we only sent one letter per year. After chatting with a consultant, we decided to try something new and send multiple letters each year. 2023 is an anomaly because you will receive up to four (4) items in the mail from us. Starting in 2024, we will only run an ‘annual fund drive’ in the Sprint/Summer, followed by an ‘End of Year’ campaign in November/December.

  • Rocky Run Fire Company provides Fire and EMS services to Middletown Township and surrounding communities. While we do receive financial support from the Township and various grants, it’s tough to make ends meet. Our annual budgeted spend for 2023 is over $500,000.

We are not immune to the rising costs everyone is facing today. Equipment and repairs have increased, the price of apparatus has increased, and we must always plan for the future.

We run fundraisers throughout the year and these fund drives in order bridge the gap. Our payroll costs exceed $150,000 and are growing, we must start raising funds for a new station, and our ambulances are nearing the end of their usable life, just to name a few big ticket items.

Other building maintenance, such as roof repairs, flooring, consumables, and technology, are large line items in our budget, as well, and often not covered by many grants.
