EMS Chief

Rocky Run Fire Company

Rocky Run Fire Company is seeking an experienced and motivated EMS professional to lead and oversee the organization’s growing Emergency Medical Services division.

Serving Middletown Township, Delaware County, and surrounding communities, Rocky Run Fire Company continues to experience increasing call volume and demand for Advanced Life Support services. This position will play a key leadership role in shaping the future of the EMS division while supporting high-quality patient care, operational readiness, and staff development.

The EMS Chief will oversee day-to-day EMS operations, support personnel development and accountability, coordinate scheduling and operational needs, and work closely with organizational leadership to continue advancing the department’s mission and service delivery.

This is primarily a weekday daytime leadership role, generally operating during normal business hours, with occasional nights, weekends, and operational response responsibilities as needed. Additional overtime opportunities may be available for shift coverage and operational support.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the EMS Division

  • Supervise and support EMS personnel

  • Promote a culture focused on professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and patient care

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of EMS operational guidelines, procedures, and training initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Health EMS regulations and applicable protocols

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and performance development of staff

  • Coordinate operational scheduling and staffing needs

  • Participate in leadership planning and organizational initiatives

  • Maintain strong working relationships with local hospitals, public safety agencies, municipal partners, and community stakeholders

  • Respond to emergency incidents and provide ALS care when necessary

  • Assist with quality improvement and operational readiness efforts

  • Participate in administrative functions, reporting, and departmental meetings

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pennsylvania or NREMT Paramedic Certification required

  • Current ACLS and PALS certifications

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Prior EMS leadership or supervisory experience required

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to lead in dynamic and high-pressure environments

  • Commitment to compassionate patient care and team development

Compensation & Benefits

  • Target salary range: $80,000 - $100,000+ depending on experience

  • Salaried, exempt position.

Schedule

  • Primarily Monday-Friday daytime schedule

  • Flexibility required based on operational needs

  • Occasional nights, weekends, and response coverage as necessary
